HISTORY OF LADY KATI EVANS


Early Life in Rarn

I am Lady Kati Evans, daughter of a noble Ubar of Rarn. My happy early years within the walls of Rarn among guards, servants, and the Blue Caste's rigorous teachings.

My mother, also of the Blue Caste, remains a shadow; she "returned to dust" when I was very young, a painful topic my father avoids.

My hidden secret of my blue furry friend, a Kur. Remember: to speak of Kur invites peril.


War, School, and Loss in Fina

War came to Rarn. Before I reached my full height, Father wisely sent me to the land's finest academy, a sanctuary from conflict. School life was demanding, leaving little respite from scrolls and discipline, yet I deeply missed my father and home.

After studying, I was sent to the scribes in Fina, where my brother, Kama, became my guardian (January 2010). He had companioned and was blessed with a daughter, but tragedy struck: a raid killed his companion and child, plunging him into grief. He then departed Fina.

Later, a stranger found me in Fina, bearing Kama's belongings, reporting my brother had "returned to dust."


Rise as Magistrate

In Fina, the High Magistrate noticed me and elevated me to Magistrate (April 2010).

He recognized my Priest Kings-blessed curiosity and uncanny ability to de-escalate conflicts, even those with drawn swords, guiding individuals to reason.

For a fleeting season, I companioned High Magistrate Kael. When he, too, was lost in a brutal raid, I was thrust into the demanding role of High Magistrate, relentlessly presiding over countless cases.


Return to Rarn and its Fall

My father, the Ubar of Rarn, journeyed to Fina, concerned by news of Kama's passing and Kael’s loss.

The Ubar of Fina's blatant disrespect angered Father, and we departed within the hour, leaving the city behind.

Back in Rarn, Father placed me as High Magistrate, where I resumed my duties at a more measured pace.

The city soon fell after a month-long battle, reduced to rubble.

Few escaped with their lives, leaving me adrift, without a Home Stone or knowledge of my family's survival.


Wandering and New Beginnings in Abydos

For a time, I wandered from city to city, offering my services and seeking safe passage with caravans.

This nomadic life eventually led me to Abydos, where my magistrate skills were again recognized, and I became Chief Magistrate.

In Abydos, I found a semblance of peace and happiness, sharing a free woman's house and rarely feeling alone.

To my profound joy, the man I now call Father found me and, with a boundless heart, adopted me, bestowing upon me the name Kati Beattie (August 2013).


Life with My New Father, the Merchant

One of my father's companions aptly described me: "Of the Blue Caste... a remarkably talented Magistrate. Don't let her quiet and seemingly shy demeanor deceive you. She is articulate, deeply knowledgeable, and cherished by her father and myself."

Her words resonated; the pursuit of justice runs as deep within me as breathing.

My father, a retired Scarlet Commander, former Ubar, and seasoned captain, had acquired two prosperous merchant houses, becoming a man of great wealth.

With his companion, he oversaw their combined enterprises. His ventures led us to various cities, where I served as magistrate or high magistrate depending on the locale's needs.

Often, the familiar pull of Turia's walls and our merchant house would draw the family, and my ingrained "itch" would prove too strong, leading me back to the magistrate's bench.


A New Journey to Svago

Father Beattie has now "journeyed the path to dust," leaving me to navigate life alone once more.

I traveled from town to town, never finding lasting roots, my compass always pointing north towards the Home Stone and the city of my cherished memories.

Along the way, I shed the name Beattie, as it held no recognition in the northern lands, while Evans might still be recalled.

After wearing out many sandals and taking odd jobs, I finally crossed the gates of Svago, hoping to have found a home again.

Svago and the Loss of Kael

Svago, a beautiful seaside city, rises from a cliff face, its full of joy and surprise (believing him dead), I met Magistrate Kael again.

I resumed my duties as Court Clerk and Advocate. As time unfolded, our feelings reignited, and we became companions once more in May of 2019, again for a time.

I bore him twins, a son (Kyran) and a daughter (Kyra), but tragically, a terrible illness consumed me, and the world faded to black.

When I finally recovered, they were gone. I wandered, lost and desperate, clinging to whispers of their whereabouts.

After years of searching I was confronted by the devastating truth: Kael and the children were lost in the chaos of battle.


Years of Waundering

Eventually, I sought to reconstruct my life and found companionship in a Builder, whose steady strength helped ground my fractured world.

We were blessed with sons, Asher, Tyrian, and Magnus, filling the silence of my years with the vibrant chaos of a growing family.

Our life was defined by movement, following construction demands across the territories. The boys thrived in this nomadic existence, their childhood horizons constantly shifting.

Time, as it always does, moved too quickly. They grew into capable young men and, one by one, departed our traveling hearth to forge their own destinies.


New Purpose in Port Victoria

The long years of my aimless journey have now led me to Port Victoria, where I am working as a magistrate again.

I have also opened my home to be a free women's dorm.

What threads the Priest Kings will weave into my destiny, only they can foresee.


A Storm and a Switch in Directions

•    My long, aimless journey has finally led me to Port Victoria, where I'm once again serving as a Magistrate and have opened my home as a free women's dorm.

•    However, my path took a sharp turn after being caught in a violent storm in Selnar and stranded there for a week. Upon the storm's end, I discovered my former residence in Port Victoria was gone.

•    I went to visit in Turmus and was walking among the houses, I ran smack into my former companion – he is alive! 

•    The wind shifts and things blow where they will at times. 


Selnar - Imperial Cos

•    What began as a mere visit, unexpectedly prolonged by the violent fury of the storm, cemented itself into something far more profound: this place has become home.

•    Magistrate Abraham Jacobson, is my guardian and I assisting him wherever I can—from his magistrate duties and teaching to helping with his writing.in any way I am able.


Isle of Teletus

•    I've officially established a home on the Isles and taken up the esteemed position of Ubara's Council and Magistrate.

•    This new chapter began under the shadow of a traumatic event, and I'm still in a period of healing from my injuries. As a result I have hired a guard.

•    It's a great honor to be here, and I'm proud to say that I was the first person to formally swear allegiance to the Home Stone of Teletus.

•    This city feels like a true home, a place where I'm an active participant and am committed to its growth and prosperity.

•    Now AHOC Magistrate of Teletus. 


 Together Again in Ar's Station

•    As grown men, Asher and Tyrian dedicated themselves to the reconstruction of Ar's Station, applying the Builder's trade to restore what was lost.

•    Now, the city is nearly finished, its skyline restored and vibrant life returning to its streets.

•    Drawn by the need for stability, I have relocated to this risen city to be near my sons, seeking the sanctuary of kin as I turn the page to this new chapter.

Port Olni Laws and Rules (2023 Final Edition)

-The civil laws and rules of Olni extend from the landing ship, throughout the city and territories of Olni. This includes Olni Shores, Olni Var, the city and docks.

-There is a 5 minute "rez" time allowed at the landing ship.

-There are two governing sets of rules for Port Olni, these are the sim rules and the laws of the city.


-Sim rules apply to out of character (OOC) events and laws to in character (IC) events.

 -Rules are enforced by sim moderators and are appealed to the sim owners. The rules are not open to debate or discussion and are completely the decision of the sim owners. Failure to abide by these rules will result in warning, ejection and possible banning.

~ Sale of slaves    
                              
Prior to any sale of a city slave, there will be a two week probationary period with potential Masters. This is so that a slave and a Master can connect/or not, and the Masters have a clear vision of the ability of the slave to be fitting of the honor of his collar.

City slaves will be offered for sale after these probationary times either by scheduled auction as set by the Master Slaver, or by private sale as set by the Master Slaver and no less than one city official. No actual linden will exchange hands. A sale is done for role play items only.

City slaves will maintain the option to remain city slaves as long as they wish to do so. No free will coerce them to submit to a personal collar.

~ Slave behavior and decorum 

All Free can punish a slave. If the owner has punishment restrictions for “owner only”, then the slave should not travel within Olni without the owner present. If a Free punishes you, take the punishment with grace. If you start out of character dramatics or refuse to take a punishment, you are subject to the same laws of the free - banishment for three days for refusing roleplay. If they scar or kill you they will owe your Master compensation. Whether or not compensation should be awarded, and in what amount, will be decided by the Ubar or a city Magistrate if the parties can't agree amicably. You are property. You own nothing. If it pleases a free woman to kick you as she passes or smile at you warmly it is her right. She is free; you are not. If you can't deal with this, you are not a Gorean slave. Leave Gor.

Serve all Free. If the owner has restrictions (not including sexually) that forbids a slave to serve all Free, then the slave should not travel within Olni without the owner present. >> Note: If a slave is with his/her owner or is in direct service to a Free, orders to the slave should be deferred to the Free that he/she is in service to. However, if a slave is wandering about alone, he/she is expected to serve all Free (except sexually if restricted).

Slaves never nod or say okay to a Free person. It is always "yes Master/Mistress". Slaves do not abbreviate (examples: lmao, lol, brb, afk, :), :D ). Slaves are expressive and emotional. A smiley or abbreviation does not do justice to the emotion that is being represented by the shortcut.

All Free persons are to be addressed as either Master or Mistress. Names are only used if commanded, which is rare and done in private. A Gorean Master would never show weakness and allow a slave to use his name in public, but may love to hear it on her lips - in private. Note: Do not confuse this with using the name of a Free. Slaves in books did speak names of Free when asked. They simply did not address a Free by their name.

While a Free person may not always be right, they are by definition, never wrong. Hold your tongue or it will be taken from you. Never argue with a Free in open chat! Use of emotes to point out that a Free is wrong or to be disrespectful will not be tolerated. If you emote something along the lines of "/me thinks the Free woman needs to read a book", it will be treated as if it was said and you can be punished. Be cautious of emotes that includes concepts like “wondering” or “thinking”. Remember, your body language speaks volumes.

 Slaves always have the last word. The words are” Yes, Master", or "Yes, Mistress".

When you are not serving the Free, don't be idle. Write your dances, practice your serves, write a story to tell later, give tours, learn an instrument, hang laundry, etc.

Some Masters prefer you beg to greet. Some think a waste of their time to bother with it. Follow the preferences of your owner. But be aware: when you first arrive, be alert. Is the air tense? Then you should refrain from speaking. Is the atmosphere light? Then greet cautiously. Is the Free speaking? Then do not interrupt. You will be acknowledged. Don't seek to be centre of attention or it may be the kind of attention you had not intended.

Slaves are not required to speak in 3rd person. This was done in the books at a Master's command generally to remind the slave of her place or as punishment. If you are privately owned this is at your Master's discretion, but it is not a requirement unless commanded to do so.

 If you see a panther girl, you do not kneel to her. You do not stop to speak with her. To do so is conspiring with a woman who is running from the collar. If you see one it can be assumed she is not there to make friends. So you will run and hide. You do not stop if she says stop. As you run, you may say "Panther!" You may scream. Try to avoid her. If a skilled panther does for some reason capture you, you may try to escape, you may fight back. Just above all, stay in character and keep it realistic.

You will kneel in the presence of the Free unless told otherwise. If you don’t kneel, you may be punished for it. It is true that slaves did not always kneel in the book; however, they also did not just stand there with their cute AO's and do nothing. If you are not on task or doing chores you are expected to go to the nearest free and kneel, and either request to serve, or wait quietly, as the situation warrants.

Sometimes, you’re damned if you do and you’re damned if you don’t and no matter what you do, it will be contrary to someone’s wishes. If you are punished for doing what you were told, take it up with your owner. If you are killed, you may take it to your owner or a Moderator, if you think it was unjustified. Be aware that a Free can kill a slave for no reason at all, so a Moderator is unlikely to overrule the action.

Do not TP from public surroundings. Use your Master's house, the kennel or privately. - just don't do in a crowd. It looks bad.

Olni does not encourage nor tolerate “princess” slaves. If you aren’t sure you want to be here, observe from the boat or talk to people in the sky market.

It is expected that you will learn the tunnels and escape routes of the city. Practice. Know how to “pop” out at unexpected places.

Try to know who are our allies with landmarks at least once a month. Know how to get there.

Remember that it is illegal for you to use a weapon, except in a most limited sense. Be aware that harming any Free could result in your death. 

~ Kennels ~
The City Kennel is private property of the Ubar of Olni. The City Slaver is an employee of the Ubar. As such, all rulings passed down by him regarding slaves will be treated as though they come at the Ubar’s command. Should the City Slaver abuse this authority, he will be dealt with publicly or privately, as the Ubar deems appropriate.

City slaves will not be taken to non-Gorean sims without express permission of the staff of the city kennel. City slaves will not RP in sims that are not BTB.

City slaves are discouraged from using RLV. Do not ask to be put on their collar unless you are renting them. A Free who rents a city slave will be put on their collar as “Second Owner”. The slave will call that Free “Master” or “Mistress”. The honorific “my” is reserved for someone on their collar as “First Owner”.

The First Girl of the city will be unowned, except as a girl in the city’s kennel. She may teach the slaves, carry a whip while within the confines of the kennel property, and mete out punishment to the girls of the city kennel.

There may be multiple staff within the City Kennel. A Master Slaver is the head of the Ubar’s kennel. Additional staff may include slavers, kennel Mistress, kennel physician and scribe, trainers, and First Girl. Privately owned kennels will have their own structure.

Unowned slaves coming into the city will be collared to the City Kennels. (City Collars are available in a box by the kennel entrance.) OOCly, she will be instructed to fill out an application and slave papers and to send those to the Ubara (Lucy Bronet). A staff member of the Kennel will be informed. The kennel staff have 2 days to respond and in-process the girl into the kennel. (The girl must also make an honest attempt to communicate with the kennel staff during this time.) Should the staff fail to in-process the girl, then she will be brought to the Ubar/Ubara of the city to determine her proper disposition.

Slaves arriving at Olni in search of a private Kennel and/or a specific Slaver will wait at the landing ship. They should contact that Slaver by IM to say they are present. They should not enter the City unless the Slaver they have come to see is present and escorts them back to the Kennels safely. 

You have chosen to play a slave on the planet Gor. Slaves are not subs. They are not princesses to be worshipped. They serve their Master first and ALL Free after. For a sub/bdsm slave it is a gift to give yourself to your Master. On Gor it is your Master's gift of ownership. No one is holding a sword to your head saying you must play a slave.
In other words If you want to play an insolent slave, play one! There is no law saying you have to be a robot and always perfect - not at all! But if you choose to play your character as a bad slave, you will be held accountable for your actions in roleplay. Playing a princess? Expect to be whipped. Whining about chores? Expect to be chained.
Being disrespectful? Expect to lose the privilege of clothing or even food.

~Rules for the Free regarding slaves~

 First and foremost, this is a game. This is not real life. If you approach a slave, even if she is your own slave, and harass her out of character about her real life you are subject to being banned and reported to the Lindens. We take this very seriously. What each person chooses to do in their spare time is their own business. If you and your girl share a real life relationship, that is your business not ours; please keep it out of the game. However, if you think you can walk in this city and order our slaves to voice or share any real life information they are not comfortable with, then appropriate actions will be taken.

Please remember that IMs are OOC (Out of Character). Do not IM city slaves for sexual services since city slaves are not allowed to perform sexual services in IMs. Harassment of a slave OOCly is taken no less seriously than harassment of a Free. Complaints of OOC harassment of any resident of the city may be taken to the slave’s owner or the sim moderators.

It is not necessary for a slave to have the same courtesy (ie, saying “Yes, Master”, etc) when they are in IMs as in open chat, although, as always, we ask that all parties should please be courteous to each other in IMs.



Slavery Laws

By law, the Slavers' Caste is a subcaste of the Merchants' Caste. The Slavers though like to consider themselves a separate Caste.

Slaves are considered property, on the same level as animals. Their owner may do anything they wish to them without repercussion. An owner can even kill his own slave with impunity.

Slaves may not own anything, including a name. Even though they may use goods, they do not own them.


 It is illegal for slaves to play Kaissa. It is considered an insult to free men, not only for a slave to play but even to touch the pieces.

In any legal proceedings, the testimony of slaves may be taken by torture. This is solely in the discretion of the courts.

The property of one who becomes a slave is transferred to the nearest male relative or the nearest relative if no male exists, or to the city, or a guardian. Even if the slave is later freed, the property cannot ever be recovered.

If a slave owner dies, his slaves pass to his heirs or if he has no heirs, to the state.

Capture rights pertain to all property, including slaves. Active possession of a slave is regarded as crucial by the law. A slave must fully serve anyone who possesses her, even a thief. If the slave runs away from the thief, she is considered to be a runaway. Free women are permitted to escape from a captor as long as they have not yet been enslaved. The point of this law is to keep slaves in bondage and to make men bold. The institution of capture is honored by all cities, provided the females captured are those of an enemy.

If a lost, stolen or runaway slave is taken by another person, the original master has only one week to regain his property before legal title passes to the new master. The slave remains the property of the original master only for that one week if he does not regain possession.

For a slave to runaway from her owner is a serious offense. For the first offense, the penalty is commonly a severe beating. But she is only allowed that single mistake. The penalty for a second offense is usually ham stringing.

A free woman can sell herself into slavery. But, once completed, she cannot then revoke it.

If a free woman submits to be a slave to a specific man, and that man refuses the offer, she still shall become a slave, subject to capture by the first person to collar her.


Any free woman who couches with another's slave or even prepares to do so, becomes a slave herself and becomes the slave of the male slave's master. This is known as the "couching law."

If a father cannot pay his debts, his daughter becomes a slave of the state. She will be put up for sale at public auction. The proceeds of her sale will be used to equitably satisfy the creditors.

A free woman who cannot pay her debts will be enslaved. Under the redemption laws, a man can pay her debts and thus will now own her. If no one redeems her within a certain period, she will be sold to slavers.

Earth girls do not have a Home Stone so there are no legalities that prevent their capture and enslavement.

A slave, on threat of torture and impalement, must endure whatever abuse a free person cares to inflict on him or her.

Any free person may discipline an insolent or errant slave, even one who is in the least bit displeasing. If the slave is killed or injured, the free person need only pay compensation to the master and only if the master requests such compensation.

The crime of false yielding is a capital offense. It is easy to detect, through infallible physiological signs.

If a slave strikes a free person, the penalty is commonly death by impalement, preceded by lengthy torture.

Freed slaves require explicit papers of manumission or they may be enslaved again without repercussion. Slaves who have been branded or had theirs ears pierced and later freed should definitely keep their papers handy at all times.

The principle of "conduct indicating suitability for the collar" deals with conduct by a free woman sufficient to warrant her reduction to slavery. It is commonly applied to fraud, theft, indigency, vagrancy, prostitution, and indulgence in sensuous dance. Other behavior which might trigger the principles includes attempting to spy on masters and slaves, disguising oneself as a slave, garbing oneself as a slave even in the supposed secrecy of one's own compartment, baring too much flesh, lingering about slave shelves and markets, and even exhibiting an interest in or fascination with bondage. The principle deals with overt behavior and not thoughts. Judges must decide if such behavior is sufficient to warrant a reduction to slavery. It is illegal for someone on their own to collar a free woman for this conduct without seeking legal action.

There is no law that states a man may enslave a free woman of his Home Stone because she has insulted or disrespected him.

Female slaves must wear a visible token of their slavery within the city limits. Male slaves are exempt from this law. It is not good for male slaves to understand their true numbers.

When a person is collared, it cancels their past. They begin a new life as a slave and may not be held accountable for any crimes that occurred while they were free.

It is illegal to sell a slave that is not your own, without the owner's permission. The penalty varies according to the sex of the seller. For a man, it is exile, and for a woman, it is enslavement.

It is illegal to offer an unbranded slave in a public sale.

By recommendation of Merchant Law, there are three standard marking places for brands, on the left thigh, right thigh, and lower left abdomen.

 In some cities, a free woman that kneels before a man or addresses him as Master effects legal imbondment on herself. It is interpreted as a gesture of submission

It is illegal to sell a slave as auburn haired if she is truly not so.

It is a felony to forge or falsify pedigree papers on any slave.

 A certification of a slave girl's heat may be given in certain cities. Her degree of heat will be listed on the sale documents. It is done in few cities though because of the potential for fraud on the part of the buyer. A buyer might use a girl for a month and then seek a refund based on the guarantee of her level of heat.

Slaves are not allowed to build anything. That right is reserved for free people only.

It is illegal for slaves to touch or handle legal documents.

Slaves may not teach free people. By teaching someone, they are placed in your debt and nothing can be owed to a slave.

A free woman may do a form of limited self-contracting where she legally becomes a slave for a specific time period, commonly ranging from one night to one year. She cannot end this contract earlier than the specified time period. Once the contract takes effect, she becomes a slave with no legal powers at all. This curious contractual arrangement is not described in great detail. It raises numerous legal dilemmas that can only be speculated about. The books do not state that the contract covers any contigencies or limits the slavery in any way. The woman becomes an actual slave. That would seem to mean she could be freely killed. What would happen is she was sold? Does the contract prevent that? Would the time period still apply if she was sold? What would happen if she was stolen? This passage seems to raise far more questions than it answers.

If a slave fails to kneel in the presence of a free person, it can be a capital offense, especially if the slave intentionally fails to do so. In that case, the slave may be tortured to death.

I. ADMINISTRATIVE LAW


1.1) Council Structure: The council shall be composed of the caste heads of each of the high castes. Additionally the High Magistrate and Master Slaver shall have a seat on the council.


2. LEGAL PROCEDURES AND METHOD OF APPEAL


~~Magistrates~~

2.1) Any and all infractions of city laws will be brought before a city Magistrate for hearing and judgment. Once an infraction is brought before a Magistrate, that Magistrate has jurisdiction until the case is decided.


2.2) Cases involving the Ubar, caste heads, senior members of the caste of scribes, or the high council, will be conducted by the High Magistrate.


2.3) All Heralds, Messengers, Singers, Poets, Musicians, Players, and Ambassadors, are immune from enslavement for criminal offenses. Heralds, Messengers and Ambassadors are subject to fines and banishment. Singers, Poets, Musicians, and Players are subject to torture, exile, and death by impaling.


2.4) If the accused admits to the infraction, or one or more citizens can provide immediate testimony to a Magistrate, then immediate hearing and judgment will be conducted.


2.5) If judgment is accepted by the accused, then judgment and punishment will be final and cannot be appealed, with punishment executed immediately.


2.6) If judgment is not accepted, an appeal of the facts can be made to the High Magistrate.The accused may ask for a full hearing. If the accused is a citizen, they will be placed under house arrest until the hearing. Non-citizens shall be confined until such time an appeal can be heard.


~~Method of appeal~~

2.7) Any judgment made by a city Magistrate may be appealed to the High Magistrate. This appeal must be presented in writing (notecard), with full reasoning why the judgment should be overturned, and with evidence to support it. The High Magistrate will review the appeal, review counter arguments from the Magistrate and render judgment within three (3) days of receiving the appeal.


2.8) Appeal to the Ubar may be requested by the accused, and punishment held in abeyance until it is resolved. The Ubar may refuse the appeal, at which time the High Magistrate’s decision stands without comment.


3. CITY WANTED LIST


3.1) Should you be unfortunate enough to be branded a wanted criminal in the city, Your image and name will be listed on the city wanted board. This list is also shared with any allies.


3.2) Being listed marks the criminal as "kill on sight" to all city warriors and citizens. There are no safe zones to a marked criminal. Criminals may be hunted in any part of the city.


3.3) To be removed from this list, a wanted criminal has a few options.

a.) A fine (in roleplay coin) can be paid to the Magistrate. The amount of the fine is determined by the nature and frequency of the crimes and set by the council and/or Magistrate.

b.) Three (3) days imprisonment. It's just like it sounds. You'll sit in a cage for three days in a public part of the city. Part of this penalty requires an on-line indicator set next to the cage to prevent cheating.

c.) Three (3) days enslavement. You submit to a collar and will be treated as a slave, not a prisoner or captive.

d.) Execution. Death from execution is seven (7) days exclusion and permanent death. The criminal's head will be mounted in a public place and displayed for several days .If the crime is serious enough, execution can include permanent banning. (see Rules...Capture.)


3.4) Disputes on this will be settled by the council or the Magistrate.


4. CRIMES AGAINST THE CITY (LV Review)


** 4.1) The Criminal Magistrate is the Presiding authority on a criminal case. His judgment is passive by revalidation or changing by the High Magistrate and that sentence is sovereign, except by the word of the Ubar or if is the case, by the Council.


Crimes against the Home Stone, which might include, but *ARE NOT LIMITED* to:-


a) Theft of the Home Stone, vandalism of the Home Stone, treason, sedition, forgery of the city symbol on unapproved products, insulting or slandering a caste leader, are subject to (but not limited to) exile, torture and death by impaling. 


b) The murder of a free is a capital offense. Each case will be judged on a case by case basis. The only justifiable cause for murder would be in the event of self defense in which case the offending party will be pardoned and all charged cleared if evidence supports such findings. The punishment for this may include, but it is not limited to, exile, torture, and death by impaling.


c) The killing of a slave by its owner is not a crime. The killing of a slave by other than its owner is punishable by monetary compensation to be paid to the owner or satisfaction by single combat.


d) The rape of any free woman of the city is punishable by torture and death by impaling. Free companions are not subject to this law as it is impossible to rape one's free companion.


e) Without benefit of process, forcefully disrobing or face-stripping a free woman may be punishable by exile, torture, death by impaling, or enslavement.


f) A first offense for theft is punishable by ear notching. The second offense is punishable by the removal of the offender's right hand. The third offense is punishable by the removal of the left hand. A fourth offense is punishable by hamstringing. All thefts may be punishable by enslavement or exile from the city.


g) Vandalism of public property may be punishable by fines, torture, and death by impaling, or enslavement. Infirmary equipment and medicines are for use by infirmary staff only.


h) Duels: A personal fight between two people may be arranged at any time. The stakes and victory conditions must be decided before combat begins, and a witness must be present. Mortal duels must be approved by the Ubar or council. Duels that result in death that occur without being approved by the Ubar or council will be considered murder.

5. FREE WOMEN (LV Review)


5.1) A free woman is expected to behave according to the established laws of Gor. A free woman is expected to behave with modesty. Free women's dress will be modest and respectful. This means no exposed cleavage, legs, backs, arms, etc. The wearing of a veil is mandatory for resident free women, and guests are strongly advised to do so out of respect to the city. To do otherwise is not a crime as such but leaves the women open to shame and ridicule. The use of the robes of concealment is for the free woman’s protection to deter capture. Being in a state of undress encourages raiders and lust and can result in collaring and capture. An allowance will be made for the correct clothing of she - urts.


5.2) The city tavern is open to Male free and slaves. Free women are not allowed inside at any time.. Free women entering shall be removed, and repeated attempts will lead to fines or possible collaring.


5.3) If a free woman acts in such a manner that is aggressive toward a male (other than inside the arena), enters a state of heat and/or exposes her body in a way that shows her heat and desires, she may be force collared by a city Magistrate after due process.


5.4) Any free woman found to be carrying or brandishing weapons other than daggers, whips and hair pins will be subject to imprisonment and/or enslavement. Examples of illegal weapons would be 'male weapons' such as, swords, long bows or any other large weapon. This applies to the arena , if IC, as well as the city. Unless it is a specific event where this law has been waived for participation.


5.5) The couching law is in effect. "Any free woman who couches with another's slave, or readies herself to couch with another's slave, becomes herself a slave, and the slave of the slave's Master."


5.6) A male slave that touches a free woman may be killed immediately unless specifically requested to do so by a Master or Mistress. (other than inside the arena during organized events that might require such).


5.7) Face stripping, removing the veils of a free woman against her will, is a serious crime, punishable at the Magistrates judgment.


5.8) A free woman has the right to submit to slavery. Then nobody can deny it. So if ANY FREE WOMAN decides, she can submit freely or sell herself into slavery but once the transaction is completed, it is too late for her to revoke it. The property of th


**  5.8a)  If a free woman submits to slavery and is under a contract of companionship the male companion has preference on ownership and can do what with her as he pleases.


5.9) If a free woman willingly submits to be a slave to a specific man, and he refuses such submission, the woman becomes a slave of the city automatically.


5.10) If a free woman kneels before a man or addresses him as Master, this is sufficient to make her a slave. Her actions are interpreted as a gesture of submission. (Note: A woman must kneel TO a specific man or kneel to him by command rather than just kneeling to sit.)


5.11)  A free woman who is the free companion of another, and has been rescued, will not be enslaved, unless by her own act of submission. Life debt to a citizen of Olni shall be paid through service or coin where enslavement is not desired. A free woman of Olni rescued by Citizens of Olni, shall not be subject to enslavement as debt.


5.12) A free woman may enter the city arena to spar as long as they are using weapons approved as stated in section 5.4 of Olni City Laws B and that such entry into the arena does not hamper any activity of the Warriors of the city or any other planned event. In addition free women that are using the city arena should yield it to free men especially Warriors should they be asked so to do. (The combat hub arena may be used and does not have these restrictions.)


6. OUTLAWS AND PANTHER GIRLS


6.1) Any free who can’t claim a Home Stone is by definition an outlaw. Free were proud of their Home Stones and would not lie, or deny being part of city without serious reason for it.


6.2) It is up to the judgment of the Guards and Magistrates regarding the arms and cloaks you wear. Expect to be challenged for loitering or exploring. You may expect to be told if you enter places that might be off-limits.


6.3) Panther Girls that are moderately dressed accepted. They are allowed in the city to trade as long as they are, in proper free woman attire, and in small numbers. 


6.4) The only female fighters acknowledged in the Olni sim are panther girls (and their variants). Female outlaws/mercenaries are not welcome. Bringing such with you on your raid automatically invalidates your raid roleplay.


6.5) The Magistrate’s office maintains a list of all criminals known. Crimes against the city are recorded and noted. These criminals most likely will be marked as “Kill on Sight” to the warriors of the city. The only way off this list is capture, or to pay the fines with the Magistrate.


6.6) The use of disguises is allowed, but subject to role-play. Claiming you are in disguise takes more then a mask and a title over your head. Use common sense and don’t assume the city is full of half-blind drunks. Gorean Warriors for the most part were pretty sharp and noticed details.

7. SLAVE LAWS


~ Introduction and definitions ~ 

7.1) These Laws apply to all slaves in the city, whether owned by the city, owned by private Houses or citizens, or brought in by visitors. Violations of these Laws will result in appropriate punishment for the slave and/or the slave’s owner. If punishment is deemed necessary for the slave’s owner, then it will be meted out fairly, as deemed by the court system of Olni. Compensation for damages is not granted to the property’s owner. These punishments may include, but not be limited to, punishment of the slave or owner, confiscation of the slave, or banishment of slave and/or owner.


7.2) Slaves must follow their owner’s wishes. City slaves will not be directed to violate these laws. If a privately owned slave is directed to violate these laws, then a court will decide the punishment.


7.3) Any Free, male or female, can be a member of the Slaver’s Caste and therefore own or be a staff member of a kennel. If a city Slaver leaves his Caste or leaves the city, they may not take any of the kennel slaves with him.


7.4) The First Girl of any kennel or private chain shall be responsible for the other girls in that kennel or chain.


7.5) These laws make no claim of “who is better/higher”, a kajira or kajirus. Both are slaves and subject to the will of the Free.


7.6) A “Kennel Mistress” is a Free, not a slave. She will be accorded the rights and privileges of any Free. (Kennel Mistress is actually not mentioned in the books)


~Enslavement~

7.7) Any Free shall be considered a slave should one of the following occur:

  o  They are sentenced to enslavement by a civil Magistrate.

  o  They have been collared in accordance with capture rights.

  o  They have made a gesture of submission in the presence of others.

( Speaking words indicating acceptance of submission, whether intentional or not.)


7.8) Any Free can accept the submission of any person, whether they were previously Free or slave, whether inside the confines of the city or not. If a Free Woman submits, it shall be witnessed, as stated above.


~Capture rights (Forced collaring)~

7.9) The city fully respects capture rights as set forth in merchant law. Under the provisions of merchant law any free person who captures a slave has temporary ownership of the slave. The legal owner of the slave has 5 days to reclaim the property. Failure to do so transfers all rights to the new owner. A slave fleeing from capture is a runaway slave and shall be dealt with in accordance with the law.


7.10) All slaves captured within the city become property of the city and shall be delivered to the city kennel for processing and review of capture by the Magistrate.


7.11) Should the captor wish the slave as their personal property they have first right of purchase after their training is complete if it is decided necessary.


7.12) All slaves captured outside of the city are property of the one who performs the capture, with law 7.9 applying.


OOCly, please remember that slaves are players, too. If someone comes to the city to submit to a specific individual or private kennel, then it shall be allowed. Otherwise, they will be collared for the city kennel. This is to prevent people from ‘poaching’ girls who just come to explore and don’t know anyone. City collars are available in a box beside the entrance to the city kennel.


~Slave registration~

** 7.13) ALL SLAVES (Private Houses included) shall have registration papers presented to the city to revalidation by the Merchant Magistrate no later than seven (7) days after they belong to a resident of the city of Olni. Failure to properly present a slaves registration within this time period may result in confiscation of the slave by the city.The Merchant Magistrate has the power to invalidate a registration if he is convinced it is product of forgery or fraud and then the slave will be confiscated by the city. Without prejudice to the criminal convictions to which the owner will be subject by the city magistrate.


7.14) Slaves are not expected to wear “slave papers” as it is illegal for a slave to touch legal documents. Registration documents will be held in the Scribal Archives, with a copy given to the Slave’s Owner.


~ Slave Examinations ~

7.15) All slaves shall be medically examined within two hands (10 days) after they belong to a resident of the City of Olni or the city kennels.


7.16) Failure to provide a slave for physical examination within this time period may result in confiscation of the slave by the city, unless a waiver has been signed and provided to the head scribe.


7.17) Medical documents will be held in the Medical Archives, with a copy given to the slave’s owner.


~Sale of slaves~

7..18) All publicly sold slaves shall have registration papers, up-to-date medical records, and shall be branded prior to completion of the transaction. A bill of sale will be provided to the new owner and a copy of the document will be presented to the Head Scribe. Private transactions require a bill of sale, and the new owner shall register the slave as new property within seven days.


7.19) Copies of all documentation will be delivered to the Head Scribe within seven days of the transaction.


~Abandonment of slaves~

7.20) Any slave who has had no contact with their owner for fourteen (14) days will be confiscated by the city. The city shall attempt to contact the owner no less than three times within the following 7 days. Failure of the owner to respond shall turn over ownership of the slave to the city.


7.21) Any kennel slave, either from the city kennel or a private kennels, will be considered abandoned property if they have had no contact with the kennel staff for seven days. This property will be delivered to the Magistrate for disposition.


~Manumission of slaves~

7.22) Slaves may be emancipated by their owners or by the courts at any time. Manumission must be done in writing and sealed by the slave’s owner or High Magistrate.


7.23) A kajirus may be allowed to fight for his freedom. With the permission of the Ubar, a Freedom Match will be arranged between a warrior and the kajirus, best 2 out of 3 rounds. The head of the Warrior Caste will determine who will defend the status quo. Upon winning his freedom, the kajirus will be brought before the courts, the details of the event will be recorded, and manumission papers will be drawn up. 


7.24) The documentation of manumission must be presented to the High Scribe and City Slaver or High Magistrate within a day of the event. The newly freed slave shall have three (3) hours to be appropriately attired and shall apply to a caste within three (3) days. Acceptance to a Caste is totally at the Caste Head's discretion. Note that the enslavement and immediate emancipation of a slave does not render legal action against them null and void. A slave must remain in a collar for a period of no less than one month or upon manumission any charges leveled prior to enslavement shall be pursued.


~Usage of city property~

7.25) Slaves shall be used in accordance with the restrictions imposed by the Master Slaver. Failure of a free person to act in accordance with these restrictions shall result in apprehension and trial. The opening of a girl without prior approval of the Master Slaver shall result in immediate apprehension and trial.


~ Slaves Fighting ~

7.26) Female slaves do not touch weapons. (A weapon includes bows, swords, etc; anything built for the express purpose of doing harm.) If a slave is found touching a man’s weapon, she will be killed. Please note: A kitchen knife is a weapon only if it is used as such.


7.27) Female slaves may wield brooms, rocks, sticks, apples, frying pans or other suitable items in defense of themselves, their owner, or their Home Stone, if their owner approves it.


7.28) Male slaves may only handle appropriate weapons within the arena or when registered as a guard slave (see following). They must leave their practice weapons in a locker in the arena.


1. A well-trained and disciplined guard slave may be allowed more freedom than a simple arena slave, and must be a slave that is trusted without question. They may only be used to guard a Free woman.

2. To become a guard slave the slave must spend at least 3 full earth months in a sim and prove he can be trusted by the Free. A guard slave's owner must be able to prove they have complete control over their slave before the slave is even considered.

3. To become a guard slave the slave must meet with the approval of the city’s Ubar and Commander having shown they have satisfied rule 2.

4. The guard slave must be registered with the Ubar and a permit lodged with the High Scribe and High Magistrate. This must be renewed every 1 earth year. Any guard slave found acting in this capacity without a valid permit will be killed and the owner heavily fined.

5. The permit may be revoked at any time by the Ubar, whilst minor offences may result in a temporary suspension.

6. The weapons of a guard slave are permitted at the discretion of the Ubar. Each guard slave will be allowed weapons on a case by case basis which means one may  be allowed weapons that another guard slave is not.

7. A guard slave may only defend their owner and must remain at their owner's side. They may only act aggressively  in defence of their owner in a life threatening situation. If they act with aggression in any other circumstance they will be killed. If they act aggressively under order from their owner or a free person when there is no discernible threat, that person will be regarded as responsible for any ensuing offence. 

8. If the threat is coming from distance, i.e arrow fire, the guard slave may attempt to attack that attacker. Once that threat is negated the guard slave must return to their owner's side.

CITY OF OLNI

Bodyguard slaves Permit


Be it known that (owner of the slave) of the City of Olni, and the Ubar and Commander approve and contract that (name of the slave) , hereafter referred to as slave, has the right to bare and use weapons in the presence of their Master or Mistress, or as dictated by the Ubar and Commander in order to fulfill their duties. 


Also as a guard slave, this slave is allowed to protect their owner with the use of weapons for defense, drawing only after the attacker draws their weapon and moves toward their owner.  If the slave dies in the attack the usual death law applies and then they are returned to their former place with the owner they protected. However if the slave wins and kills or downs the attacker the slave is excused from usual punishment of death for killing or striking a free  because the slave was acting under orders to protect their owner and doing the job that is assigned to them as per city laws C (7.28)


If the slave is used as an offensive weapon and/or in defiance of what is stated above the agreement shall be dissolved. If so warranted both the slave and the personal owner maybe impaled, enslaved or banished as the city sees fit.  


Any questions or further information regarding this slave's right to bare arms should be taken up with their owner as listed at the bottom of this document or the High Scribe, Ubar or Commander of Olni.


A copy of this document will be carried by the slave, kept by their owner, and filed with the city of Olni. The slave must have a copy of this at all times.

This document is legal for one year when it will be reviewed and renewed if approved for the continued service of the named slave. This document is void if it is not set to no mod and or it does not match official records kept by the city of Olni. Tampering or changing this document renders it void and can carry a punishment of enslavement, impalement or banishment as determined by the High Magistrate of the city of Olni. 


~General laws~

7.29) Slaves must wear a visible token of their slavery; this may be a collar or a brand.


7.30) If a slave strikes a free person, the penalty is commonly lengthy torture followed by death by impalement.


7.31) False yielding.. The crime of false yielding is a capital offense. It is easy to detect through infallible physiological signs. "The absolute truth must be spoken to a Gorean Master. It is forbidden to a girl to hide her feelings." Captive of Gor, 346


7.32) Slaves are not allowed in temples. It is felt that they would defile it.


7.33) It is illegal for a slave to wear veils unless ordered to by their Master. "Free men do not take it lightly that a kajira would dare to don the garments of a free woman. This is regarded as an extremely serious offense, fit to be followed by terrible punishments. It can be worth the life of one to do so. "Slave Girl of Gor, p. 120


7.34) Runaway slaves may be hunted down. For the first offense, you will be beaten publicly. The penalty for a second offense is death (and perm banning).

( If you run away you may be hunted on any Gorean city by your owner or someone they hired. )


7.35) Slaves may not teach Free people. (By teaching someone, they are placed in your debt and nothing can be owed to a slave.) A Free can attend a class given by a slave to make sure it is being done properly.

 ** Standards of general conduct. (LV Review)


1. We are an adult rated sim. You must be at least 18 years of age to be here. You are also expected to act like it.


2. You must be able to converse and roleplay in English. We welcome those whose first language is not English, and every effort will be made to effectively communicate. Use of babblers/translators is acceptable. 


3. The ooc market, ooc arena and skybox dwellings are considered safe zones at all times. Any private dwellings are considered safezones as long as the occupants remain inside. Should the occupant leave and engage in roleplay, the dwelling is not considered safe should they try to 'escape' to their dwelling.  You may enter roleplay from private dwellings: tp into 'home' and then leave the dwelling. 


4. Roleplay landing/tp points are safe for a max of 10 minutes only on initial entry to the sims. This does not apply when moving to another sim in the region. Once you engage in roleplay the TP point is no longer safe. The landing ship may not be trapped or used in an offensive manner. When departing at the ship, from combat, it is not a safe zone and 3 posts of clear departure roleplay are required.


5. You must port out from a suitable TP point to escape. If you roleplay your exit you will be deemed to have left at that point. If you do not roleplay your exit, you and any others with you will be deemed to have left at the point in time when each individual TP's out. 


6. The latest version of the ZCS meter or Gorean Meter must be worn at all times. This sim uses the ZCS meter for combat. 


7. We do not allow child avatars. Animal Avatars within the city walls are approved on a case by case basis. Animal avatars are free to engage and roam the lands outside the city walls.  Animal Avatars may not be used in combat scenarios/roleplay. 


** 8. Appropriate Gorean beasts (thalarions, bosk, verr, kaiila, etc) may be used inside the walls as a 'vehicle' or mount with consideration given this is a walled city.  Alll tarns should be metered 20/20 with the exception of racing and draft tarns used for their bred purposes. 


** 9. We do not allow roleplay trading in Linden $ on the sims, only roleplay coin.

Coins acceptance will depend case by case. Prim coins, meter coins or just roleplaying

a payment will be accepted in a mutual agreement of the players in scene.


** 10.  We do not allow OOC in main chat. Do not abbreviate or use smiles (example: lmao, lol, brb, afk, :), :D ). Roleplay is expressive and emotional. A smiley or abbreviation does not do justice to the emotion that is being represented by the shortcut. However due the custom

of many sims will be tolerated the use oc OOC talking between double parenthesis " ((  __ ))" when moderately used.


11. We do not allow insulting, aggressive, or harassing behavior in OOC/IM.


12. You are expected to handle both yourself and any problems in an adult and mature manner. You will be removed if you cannot do this. Please make all reasonable attempts to resolve conflict in an IC or OOC manner with the persons involved. If no reasonable solution can be reached, then and only then, come speak with either Jarek SpiritWeaver, Lucy Bronet, Robert Lightstone, Spy Habilis or Tuor Na'Kos. Please remember to always be respectful. They are real people at the keyboard with real feelings and emotions.


13. Consent is required before taking pictures, sharing them, or sharing IM conversations with other individuals. The only exception to this is for roleplay moderation purposes.


14. We do not allow parking, AFK or OOC for extended periods of time in non-camp areas of the sims.


 ** 15. We do allow sparring in arena mode on the sims for training sessions. The arena is open to all who wish to spar. The use of any other mode but combat/RP or not wearing a meter outside of these training sessions will result in autocapture if engaged by another party. 


16. We do not allow avatars younger than seven (7) days to join in roleplay. These will be ejected.


17. We do not allow tags or meter labels, which state, or lead others to incorrectly believe the avatar is a sim admin or rp moderator.


18. Whilst TP'ing in and out of roleplay areas is subject to moderation. Repeated violations may result in administrative action. All efforts should be made to 'return' to a sheltered location if possible. Residents will be allowed to log on and off within the city from within their dwellings/offices.


19: Mis-use of group notices, as determined by group officers may result in the loss of posting rights for 3 days for a first instance. Further mis-use may result in a permanent withdrawal of the privilege.

                                        ~~CAPTURE~~ May 2021

1. Capture is 3 real time days from time of capture. Capture beyond this is by mutual agreement. Release before this is by agreement, rescue, or escape.


2. Uncollared/unowned slaves may be force collared by any Free. (See the laws about slaves.) 


3. Where submission is obtained under torture, it is your responsibility to enforce it.


4. If a runaway slave is captured, he/she will be considered property of the captor if not claimed by his/her owner within five (5) days of the date the slave ran away. Written proof may be required to show ownership. 


5. Slaves are considered abandoned if his/her owner is missing for more than two (2) real time weeks. At that time the slave will become property of the city.


6. Free women in the city must be suitably attired or risk force collaring.


7. Taking a captive from the sim should be by the consent of all parties and the destination must be another eligible roleplay sim. If you move a captive, you must follow the capture rules for the sim where they were initially captured. 


8. Bringing a captive into the sim or taking a captive from the sim must be from a role play entry/departure point (tp point) and must be role-played.


9. If you capture someone, you are responsible for the roleplay with that person. Merely capturing or force collaring them and then leaving them for others to deal with is not fair to anyone. If you are not willing to roleplay with the person, then do not capture them.


10. Escapes require a minimum of 5 posts. This is distinct from unbinding/cutting someone from binds which is 3 posts. Two bound people who are close enough to actually help each other, may with appropriate rp unbind each other. Self Unbinding requires 5 descriptive emotes over a period of 10 minutes from after any combat involving you personally has ceased. Binding, disarming, and searching are part of the combat rp involving you.


11. Rescue attempts may not commence until after 1 hour from the time of capture.


12. The sending of birds to aid rescue is forbidden unless your character has a bird cage with them, a detailed description of where the bird is trained to go and why you're traveling with an aviary in your pants.


13. Anyone captured and taken from any of the sims may send a LM to someone in active roleplay in the city within 30 minutes of their capture if there should be clues/witnesses of the abduction. If not done within 30 minutes, then no clue was deemed to be left.


14. Captives may TP out if they receive no roleplay for 30 mins. This time runs from the end of combat or engagement. If a person chooses to do this, they may not return to roleplay in the sim for 3 hours.


15. Negotiations/bargaining for Captives to be returned must use roleplay coinage and goods, including hostages.  Lindens may not be used for this purpose.


DEATH Scenario RP:  “Normal” death is 36 hours, must be emoted in a minimum of 3 descriptive emotes, and requires 30 minutes roleplay in advance of this, as well as a good IC stated reason. A notecard must be provided to an admin for the kill to be valid. For Assassins the hunt is included in the 30 minutes rp. The term valid rp killing refers to a killing as part of a major rp scenario, which must be presented to a moderator for consideration by the council if necessary. The time period ban applies to the avatar, the coma or death to the character.

Normal death      =  36 hours, effectively coma.

Death penalty      = 72 hours.....permanent death.

Suicide                  = 7 days.........permanent death.

Valid Rp Killing/Death by Assassin according to Olni Assassin rules, deemed valid. = 5 days effectively coma.

Mercy killing of a person mutilated beyond redemption. 

                                 =  5 days effectively coma.

Avatars returning to the sim after permanent death will require a completely new character. All previous training and knowledge being obsolete. A new application will need to be submitted to the council for approval. The death penalty, rarely used in Olni, would be subject to appeal to the High Magistrate or the Ubar before being applied of course. ***Individuals who as part of their limits deem all deaths as 'permanent' will have those limits respected.

ALL WEAPONS MUST BE IN CHARACTER LOGICAL AND GOREAN.

 Sheaths for each of your weapons must be worn to allow usage of a weapon;

  EXAMPLE: If you have a sword and spear on sheath, you can only wear the draw of the spear and sword. You can not use a weapon that is not on sheathed.


◆ FREE MEN


Free Men are allowed to use any weapon that is IN CHARACTER reasonable and Gorean.

        •    Swords, spears, whips, pole-axes, glaives, axes, slave goads, daggers, rocks, sticks,  and fists.

   ➨ RANGED - Max damage allowed 20%

        •    Bows and crossbows



◆ FREE WOMEN


Weapons that are allowed to Free Women are the only IN CHARACTER REASONABLE WEAPONS.


   ➨ MELEE - no greater than 25%

        • Daggers, fans, hairpins, slave goads, whips, brooms, sticks, and fists. 

        •  They may not use swords. spears, axes, glaives, pole-axes, claws etc. 

   ➨ RANGED - No greater than 15% 

        • NO Bows    

  ➨ EXCEPTION:  GOADS CAN BE USED ONLY WITHIN SLAVE HOUSES AND ONLY BY SLAVERS -35%

  

◆ MALE SLAVES


Male slaves are to only be armed by a Lieutenant or higher from the Scarlet Caste before a raid. Only one slave is withhold from this rule is a guard slaves. Any slaves fails to disarm themselves when a Free Man asks may result in the death of your slave.


   ➨ NOTE: 

   •  A guard slave the slave must meet with the approval of the city’s Ubar and Commander having shown they have satisfied.

   •  The guard slave must be registered with the Ubar and a permit lodged with the High Scribe and High Magistrate. This must be renewed every 1 earth year. Any guard slave found acting in this capacity without a valid permit will be killed and the owner heavily fined.

1). Your avatar must be a minimum of 3 months old to be considered eligible for the Black Caste. At this age, you can seek out the Black Caste for training IC. Anyone less than 3 months old cannot roleplay as a Black Caste in Olni.


2) Assassins must follow the laws and rules of Olni. Stop and read them before you enter.


3) If anyone is discovered to be masquerading as an Assassin and who is not a recognized member of the Black Caste, they may well be treated as an Outlaw.


4) To be recognized as a member of the Black Caste you must be a member in good standing in one of these recognized Black Caste Groups: Other groups will be considered if forwarded by the Assassin.

5) RP as an Assassin by a female is invalid. 


6) Any event that requires more than one Assassin must be sanctioned by a group of at least 5 recognized Master Assassins in order to be valid. The group of Assassins wishing to do so must petition the Council of 5 recognized Master Assassins to seek that sanction, which is reached by a majority vote.


7) During the hunting and observation phase the use of a disguise is acceptable. (See Laws B 6.6)


8) An Assassin must wear the black livery of his caste and bare the mark of the black dagger on his forehead when he is ready to begin his “Kill phase”. He will be required to wear a combat meter and will be required to actually down the victim. The Assassin must emote wearing the black dagger on his forehead at least once while in the presence of his mark and before he attempts the assassination.


9) Slaves can travel with their Black Caste Masters if the Assassin chooses to use his slave for spying or distraction purposes. He should of course expect the slave to be impaled if discovered. They must enter the sim separately as the Mark of the Dagger allows a lone Assassin entry to hunt unless its a sanctioned event.


10) The Assassin is not required to seek permission from a Ubar or Admin, to hunt in Olni. We will not require knowing details of who the mark is in IC or OOC.


11) If the mark is one of our own Citizens, to demonstrate the competence of the Assassin's PTOIT (Planning, Tracking, Observation and Investigation Training), he is required to log three separate sessions in Olni, showing 3 different date stamps, before he attempts his assassination of the target. 


12) Non-Citizen targets can be assassinated as the window of opportunity presents itself. In cases of dispute and for moderation purposes, we may ask for the Assassin's PTOIT logs. Failure to produce logs may invalidate RP.


13) All kills need to be note-carded and provided to validate. if the kill is challenged. The notecard should include all of the providence for the mission, including the assignment (no names required), the travel, the stalk (PTOIT), the kill, and the escape which should all be IC.


14) The contract against a Citizen in Olni is deemed to be complete when the target or the Assassin is killed (which ever happens first). When the contract is over, the reason for the kill and the client that hired the Assassin cannot be used against that same Citizen again.


15) During the kill phase. the Black Caste are not required to follow the 30 minute role-play rule before they strike against their Mark. Three lines of RP/emoting are required for any kill to be considered valid. (Also see Combat rule 5 regarding use of bows.)


16) Following an assassination attempt the Assassin must successfully reach the TP arrival/exit area and emote at least one line of departure before teleporting out. Doing so will be considered as having found safe passage away. Teleporting directly out of the city after a kill will invalidate the kill.


17) If the weapons you wear come with sheaths or quivers then wear them. If sheaths are not worn, the weapon can not be used in the sim.


18) Failure to uphold one or all of these rules will invalidate the Role-play. Persistent law breakers risk banning from Sims and ejection from the Black Caste.


19) Olni reserves the right to limit the number of assassination attempts, in the event of multiple contracts.


20) All property of the assassination victim is handled via inheritance law.


Behavior of Olni Citizens with Assassins:


21) Gate guards shall interrogate each individual person at the gate not known to them from prior RP.  If they expect to enter Olni with a bow at the kill phase, or conduct a hunt, they must be verified OOC via a combination of profile group viewing or IM to be a legitimate BC. (See list of approved BC groups.) If they are not so verified, they may enter the city to RP but may not carry a bow and may not conduct a hunt until so verified. 


22) Rarii may not interfere with a Black Caste wearing the Mark but this does not mean they have to stand back and do nothing whilst someone is killed in front of them. 


23) Rarii are permitted to protect the mark and defend against the Assassin at any point after weapons are drawn. Warriors are also permitted to follow Assassins, track their movements, or to form defensive rings around their Commanders and City Leaders when an Assassin is present in the city if they choose to do so.


24) Innkeepers and Shopkeepers will tolerate their presence and do business with them, all be it reluctantly. Regular citizens (especially Free Women) do not approach, challenge, question, flirt with, sit with or otherwise interact with Assassins. Regular citizens are fearful of and avoid Assassins. Citizens who behave otherwise might arouse the suspicion of the Warriors as spies for Assassins.
